Jim Fisher, EIT, LSIT
Education
BS Civil Engineering, Missouri
University of Science and Technology, 2006
Experience
A lifelong
Missourian, Jim was raised in rural Southwest Missouri and
began his career in this industry within a week of his high
school graduation at Heideman and Associates, a firm in
Springfield, as a rodman on a surveying crew. He continued
working in the surveying and heavy construction industries
and studying engineering for the next seven years until his
graduation from the University of Missouri – Rolla. This
included part time work at Elgin Surveying. After
graduation, Jim worked one more summer in the heavy
construction arena then decided he should once again rejoin
a consulting firm, this time in Branson, primarily designing
private works, specializing in residential and commercial
site development, including the design of many start up
sewerage and drinking water works, due to the decentralized
nature of development that is common and necessary in that
area. In this role, he gained valuable experience working
directly with the client on complicated projects with less
than forgiving site conditions and deadlines.
Having always enjoyed the Rolla area
and when an opening came available at Elgin Surveying, Jim
jumped at the opportunity to come back to his adopted home.
Since rejoining our staff, Jim has become very familiar with
the design and construction administration of
Federally-funded projects for a number of our municipal
clients, as well as working on the private projects for our
developer clients.
