B.S. Civil Engineering, Missouri University of
Science and Technology, 1989.
Experience
Kent began surveying at the age of 13 working summers as a
chainman (chainboy) for G.F. Pierce & Associates in the
Kansas City area. After graduating from the University
of Missouri-Rolla in 1989, Kent joined the firm of G.F.
Pierce and worked as a design engineer and survey party
chief. The firm's main income was designing residential
subdivisions. In 1997, Kent purchased the assets of G.F. Pierce and formed GFP Engineering, Inc. Kent
expanded the business to include commercial and industrial
site design, designing major shopping developments, office
developments, hospitals and schools. Kent sold the
assets of GFP Engineering, Inc. in 2007 in preparation to
purchase Elgin Surveying & Engineering, Inc. Kent formed a
partnership with Kenny Light and in February of 2008 they
purchased Elgin Surveying & Engineering, Inc. Kent has over
20 years experience in the surveying and
engineering field.
